There have been reports going round that the Niger state chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Hon. Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, is allegedly sponsoring one of the strong opposition parties, the People’s Democratic Party, in Borgu and Agwara local government areas.
Borgu Online’s effort to reach the leader of the APC was not successful. The allegations in circulation on social media was that the APC chairman, Jikantoro, is planning to decamp to the PDP before the general elections coming February, 2022.
Efforts to get information from the associates of the APC leader were not successful. But today, 25th of December, 2022 some of the core associates and loyalists of Jikantoro have decamped to the PDP.
The decampees were welcome to the PDP by the PDP National House of Assembly flagbearer for Borgu/Agwara, Hon. Ismaila Ahmed Kichima and Hon. Muazu Mohammed Sani, PDP flag bearer for the NSHA, Borgu.
This current situation has further compromised the doubts in the minds of members of the APC. Is it true that the APC chairman is secretly plotting against his party? Or has his associates left him, if so, why?
